Israel attacks Freedom Flotilla..20 dead scores injured..Turkey: “Israel violated international laws and will suffer consequences”..Raed Salah leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel killed

Up to 16 people have been killed when Israeli naval commandos boarded aid ships bound for the Gaza Strip, meeting resistance from pro-Palestinian activists, Israel’s Channel 10 television said.

The six-ship convoy carrying aid for Palestinians and led by a Turkish vessel with 600 people on board set sail for Gaza from international waters off Cyprus on Sunday in defiance of an Israeli-led blockade of the territory.

There was no immediate comment from Israel, where public radio quoted an unnamed Arab journalist aboard a ship as saying the navy intercepted the activists and that shooting was heard.

Vice premier Silvan Shalom told Israel Radio that Israeli forces would issue a report soon.

“As far as we know IDF (Israeli military) commandos descended on the boat from helicopters and and took it over,” said Mary Hughes Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Free Gaza Movement, which was behind the convoy.

An Israeli religious medical service, ZAKA, said seven people had been admitted to hospital in Haifa, Israel’s main naval base, one of them in a serious condition.

Israeli officials said overnight the navy told the activists by radio to turn back toward Cyprus or head for the Israeli port of Ashdod to unload the 10,000 tonnes of aid, which Israel would then transfer to the Palestinians in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip.

The convoy set off in international waters off Cyprus on Sunday in defiance of an Israeli-led blockade of Gaza.

The flotilla was organised by pro-Palestinian groups and a Turkish human rights organisation.

Turkey had urged Israel to allow it safe passage and said the 10,000 tonnes of aid was humanitarian.

Israel had said it would prevent the convoy from reaching Gaza.

Egypt and Israel tightened a blockade on Gaza after Hamas took over the territory in 2007.

Israel launched a devastating military offensive in Gaza in December 2008 with the aim of halting daily rocket fire towards its cities.

Most of the 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza rely on aid, blaming Israel for imposing restrictions on the amount and type of goods it allows into the territory.

The United Nations and Western powers have urged Israel to ease its restrictions to prevent a humanitarian crisis. They have been urging Israel to let in concrete and steel to allow for post-war reconstruction.

Israel denies there is a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying food, medicine and medical equipment are allowed in regularly.

It says the restrictions are necessary to prevent weapons and materials that could be used to make them from reaching Hamas.

Al-Jazeera TV reported at 12:39 am, ET, on May 31, 2010, that the initial number of the peace activists on board of the Freedom Flotilla, carrying aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, who were killed maybe up to fifteen while injuries reached scores of activists.

Al-Jazeera TV correspondent in Isdood, Walid Al-’Umary, added that this news story was aired by the Israeli TV reporting from Turkish sources. This means that nobody still knows for sure the number of those killed in the attack, whether they were two, ten, or fifteen.

The Israeli occupation soldiers attacked all the ships from the air and boats, they boarded the ships firing at the unarmed peace activists.

They have been rounding them up to take them as prisoners to the Israeli naval base in Isdood, which the Israelis call Ashdod after they dispossessed its Palestinian population in 1948 and evicted them to Gaza as refugees until today.

Israel has said it will prevent the convoy from reaching Hamas-ruled Gaza; Israeli Naval ships await the convoy’s arrival to the area.

  2. I hope they can force the MSM to show at least a little bit more truth about dirty Israel.
Here we have more and more laws to forbit people to critisize the behavour of Zionists in Israel. As if this has something to do with Judaism!

  3. What is really weird here, is that the attack is so highlighted by the western media, the usual is to put Israel violent attacks in the shade….

    • yes amadmansy, this is a very good point.

The comments of msm are full with the usual ‘undercover-pro-zionst’-trolls who try to defend the fasists with their always the same stupid arguments…
… but if read the papers the last few days/weeks you can find almost too many stories which critisize Israel. That is not the ‘normal’ way and we really must think about whats in the bush!!!

      • agree mario..the israeli bashing is around a lot..here in australia i posted the story last week about rudd kicking out the israeli diplomat over things we do as well..mind you..israel deserves some harsh words no doubt..but its all a bit to willing atm..

    • yes i noted that to..its almost totally against israel..almost like its coordinated..but that would be a conspiracy :P

  4. Thanks for the information given

    • your welcome

      • i think to be fair..we need to show this..remember..the ships were told to change course and go where they were directed..the turks knew this was never going to be allowed to berth..yet they sent it anyway

    • they were warned yes..and told to come through a port for checking..they ignored it..not a bright idea to do when you are a few miles off the israeli coast and you are bringing stuff unchecked to gaza..sort of got what they asked for in someways..no excuse for the violence but what did they expect?

  10. It’s Turkey. That’s what’s very important about this. Turkey has been the mediator between the Middle East and Ameri-Europe-Israel (A-E-I) relations. Turkey is pro-Islam but is secular and has sided with A-E-I over the decades. Geographically and politically they are the middle point between the middle east and europe. Turkey though has been becoming closer with Islamic and Persian countries recently due to the west not siding with Turkey as much anymore especially covertly or politically behind the scenes. Alot of the pressure has been to get Turkey more A-E-I involved, but since Turkey has traditionally been the mediator and has strong ties to Islamic and Persian countries then it’s a “your either with us or against climax coming out of this” by the A-E-I towards Turkey I believe. The EU tries to coax Turkey towards Europe more by offering to let them join the EU but there’s also Russia involved on that matter too. Turkey geographically and politically is also a mediator between A-E-I and Russia too. Squeeze Turkey too hard and it will be tension on all of the middle east, Russia, and europe.

I read an article more on this somewhere I wish I knew where. There’s more details on Turkey’s mediating role somewhere. Maybe I’ll find that at some point.

    • hit the nail on the head wildy..it is turkey..ive done a few posts lately where they are berating israel and lauding iran..and they want to get into NATO

  11. They are defending it already, with the typical scapegoat..” Al Qaeda”.Al Qaeda or not wat rights did Israel had to attack a ship in international waters? The message was plain and simple ” We can attack anyone/anywhere and easily get away with it.
Wait a day or two, Israel will fabricate a 100 more stories and the U.S.A and E.U would once again side with dear ol Israel.
My serious condolences for da deceased and I hope that Turkey stands firm at it’s stance and does not step back albeit any international pressure.

    • thanks anaresh..lets see how it pans out..at this stage i am not seeing to many defending israel..as we have said before its almost to much israel bashing over this one..maybe this is the CFR’s push to finally ostracise israel..and if so.. the the israelis fell for the trap..like a lemming

  12. this morning ‘theaustralian’ reports the story, and shows wounded israeli commandos being taken for treatement……poor buggers…..

  13. I just heard they found a Qur’an on the Flotilla boats, and another on the bottom of the ocean near the Oil Leak in the Gulf. Muslims did it! Rinse, repeat……

  14. My feeling is that the propaganda is too much , and there is something big about to happen. Hope I’m wrong ……..

  15. THIS VID IS BEFORE THE ATTACK

  16. NOW THE THINK THAT JUST CAN STAND IS WHEN
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu say to the cameras that the ISRAELI COMMAND (ALA SWAT TEAM) was attack with rods and chairs
that was his defense to shoot plp and btw is plp from the USA that was on the FREEDOM SHIPS in jail now in Israel WTF

    • we have to give air to both sides here..i have seen the IDF being attacked yes..and supposedly they were going to lynch one..as always israel goes way over the top with its response..from what i am led to believe..no-one is in a jail..thats spin..israelis want them out of israel..they want to deport them..concientous objectors are refusing to be deported hence why they are still in detention..

  17. they have never been fair , why start now !!

    • we have to show both sides of the story or we are know better than the controlled media we despise..thats all i am trying to do..i abhor violence but i also realise this event was manufactured for a response..which they sure as hell got..the usa has to use its power over israel to break the aid blockade..not by sailing into israeli waters and expecting to be greeted with open arms..

  18. THIS IS WRONG
Israelis celebrating attack on Turkish Aid Ship – in front of Turkish Embassy,Tel Aviv

  19. Is there any clear knowledge coming out of this situation? Does anybody know who crossed the line first? Who felt threatened and wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen that was dangerous? In other words is there a clear indication of who was innocent during this event?

If no to all of these questions, then the truth is not loud in that situation. It is not present nor heard. There are only deceptions and lies communicating loudly trying to cause confusion around the world making many run to figure out what has happened throwing some people off-balance and perpetuating confusion in the minds of people around the world. That in itself is the danger. Blinding people to the truth, no matter what the situation only makes it the more chaotic for some people in the world. But that falls right into the lap of the corrupt.

    peace

    • well said mate..this is what i am trying to get across to the readers..i wont be taking any sides here because the truth is being lost in the frenzy of disinformation..from both sides..

      • that’s a good way of looking at this seeker. It is this “frenzy of disinformation” that only perpetuates confusion and burying some people deeper under the shit of confusion and corruption. Makes life harder for some people to stay steadfast, feel safe, maintain a sense of sanity in their lives, and sustain an effort of boldness that is necessary on the path of truth. The corrupt are trying to scare people, yet, love wins out. The corrupt are trying to make love look weak in the face of their terrible destructiveness. Shame on these evil people for sharing their unreasonable, moronic ways.

        peace

      • the coordination of the outrage around the world is almost..planned?

      • indeed, planned. The corrupt have plans, but they are failing so they do new plans that fail, so they only keep making things worse as their failed plans prey upon the good plans and works that good people have enacted. For instance, the free market is simply individuals voluntarily making exchanges of economic goods. When it is doing good the corrupt take all the credit. The politicians come out and say, ‘See our plan worked’. But when it is not doing well, due to the policies that gov’ts have enacted in accord with lobbyists, etc…., then the corrupt come out and say, ‘That damn free market of people making voluntary exchanges. People don’t know what they want and they are ruining the market.’ Meanwhile it’s their plans that are ruining the market, but they take the credit when it does good and blame the market when it does bad. Meanwhile it’s their bad policies they are the cause of these economic downturns on such massive levels.

So yes, they have plans, but bad ones and are sustaining themselves off of the good lives of good people. In essence, it’s the good people that have reasonable plans, and it is these good plans that will eventually overwhelm the corrupt and the lies will be seen for what they are on a massive scale. And like all those old stories, good wins out in the end. There’s a happy ending. :-)

      • i like your ending..

The politicians come out and say, ‘See our plan worked’. But when it is not doing well, due to the policies that gov’ts have enacted in accord with lobbyists, etc…., then the corrupt come out and say, ‘That damn free market of people making voluntary exchanges. People don’t know what they want and they are ruining the market.’

well said..i have a lew rockwell video for tomorrow

  20. the next ship is the ONE to watch is the one name after Rachel RIP
