World history before our eyes
http://www.bradleymanning.org/3780/world-history-before-our-eyes/
Two men of very divergent walks of life have been irrevocably connected on the stage of world history.
One is 22-year-old US Army intelligence analyst, Pfc. (formerly SPC) Bradley Manning who allegedly leaked a secret video and classified military information to the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, was arrested by the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command in May 2010 and is currently held in US military detention in Kuwait facing numerous charges.
The other is Julian Assange, the daring co-founder and prominent spokesperson for WikiLeaks. Dubbed by some as “the most dangerous man in the world” and by others as a super-hero of the truth movement, Julian Assange remains highly active despite having to step up his personal security measures since the Manning arrest so as to elude “prosecution or worse”.
The leaked video, published by WikiLeaks in April 2010 under the title “Collateral Murder“, shows an American attack helicopter gunning down Iraqi civilians and a Reuters camera crew in Baghdad in 2007.
Like a large stone thrown into a great pool, this significant leak is creating numerous and wide-ranging ripples.
Ripple One: It has caused a wave of public outrage, internationally but particularly within the United States, over US militarism, demonstrating the power of leaked classified material to fuel civil activism for a more just and peaceful world.
Ripple Two: A “Supporters of Bradley Manning” group has been started, bringing together a high power international team with skills and networks from independent media, law, IT and peace activism, furthering what were reportedly Manning’s hopes that the release of the videos and documents would lead to “worldwide discussion, debates, and reforms”.
Ripple Three: Significant mainstream media attention on the combat video leak brought its publisher, WikiLeaks, into the limelight. As a result, the word is out. That there exists an international public service called WikiLeaks, run by a collective of journalists and activists, that web-publishes leaked secret documents and media. That WikiLeaks protects its sources (using the most sophisticated encryption technology and basing their operations in countries such as Sweden and Belgium which have strong source protection laws). That WikiLeaks invites anyone with access to classified or confidential material that rightfully belongs in the public domain to contact them.
The Bradley Manning Support Group can be joined at www.bradleymanning.org
Will we be seeing many, many more coming forward int the manner of Attorney at Law James Ceverney, who wrote in the open email communications of the Support Group: “For a long time I have felt sickened about what is happening in this country, and I have felt guilty that my activism has been minimal. This case, however, touched a nerve in me. For me, this was the last straw. I’m ready to get off my butt and do something, anything I can, to stop this monstrous compounding of injustice upon injustice.”

and good point but never ends well
look at Admiral Borda
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Michael_Boorda
imo best solution is lady justice is in every country so WE need to start using it
Boorda died May 16, 1996 of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.[8] The autopsy results were not released to the public. He reportedly also left two suicide notes, neither of which was released publicly.[9] He was reported to have been despondent over a news media investigation, led by David Hackworth, into Valor device enhancements he wore on his Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal (small bronze “V” devices, signifying valor in combat), which the media report claimed he was not entitled to wear. Former CNO Elmo Zumwalt, who was Boorda’s commander in Vietnam, later indicated that Boorda was authorized to wear them.[10] In 1998, one of Boorda’s sons requested a review of his service record. The Board for Correction of Naval Records, the ultimate arbiter of whether Boorda was entitled to wear the Combat V on both Medals, determined that he was not.[11]
Boorda was survived by his wife, Bettie Moran Boorda, four children, and 11 grandchildren.

Thank you for mentioning our unique support group, the International Bradley Manning Support Committee, which is in the process of building out a web presence at http://www.bradleymanning.org/
The group was formed when an ex-citizen of the United States, now living in Eastern Europe, registered the domain name and put out a call to action. The response to that call led to the formation of the committee we have presently: roughly 15 core organizers who are working to quickly address the most urgent + immediate needs of Pfc Manning and his family with another 100+ volunteers standing by, ready to go when we begin our global push to defend this young man against a military industry that’s rotten from corruption and lacking the moral standing to judge what is ‘unbecoming conduct’.
Institutionally, you can almost see the U.S. Army as a twisted denial junkie: unable to stomach the pain of so many lies, in a panic to stuff away the evidence and then pound on whoever it thinks brought on the agony of seeing itself exposed bare on that video, hearing the impatient demand for a chance to fire again, one more burst at the bullet-torn body of the Reuters journalist dragging his own body away.
Our committee includes people who immediately understood whoever leaked that video.. someone from São Paulo, another from Akron, and Beirut, and Toronto, San Francisco, Buenos Aires. We’re all driven by a common understanding that spans distance + language and right now Bradley is isolated away in a holding cell in Kuwait. We’re thinking of him..
Please support our efforts. Keep watching http://www.bradleymanning.org — further updates will be posted by the end of the week.
i commend you on your efforts..lifting the veil of secrecy is paramount to enable the people to see whats really going on..the awakening of information is on..now!
I had not seen these details. Thanks. This is why we need to not let these politicians sensor the web. If they do, we would only have the main stream media to get our news from. That would be devastating.
they know the web is unstoppable with information..they will try to regulate it
