Hackers seek to “avenge” WikiLeaks

An anonymous group of internet activists appear to have launched a series of cyber attacks to shut down the websites of Mastercard, a Swiss bank and the Swedish prosecutor’s office in an apparent retaliation for action taken against WikiLeaks.
A group calling itself “Anonymous” or “Anonymous Operations” said on its homepage on Wednesday that Mastercard.com was its “current target”, after the credit card company stopped its payment services to the whisteblowing website.
The credit card company’s website was inaccessible on Wednesday morning, while PostFinance, the Swiss post office banking service, also said it was suffering denial of service attacks since it closed the bank account of Julian Assange, the website’s founder.
“Since the closure of the account, groups have launched ‘Operation Payback’ with the aim of blocking PostFinance by simulating hundreds of thousands of connections with the aim of overloading it,” Alex Josty, a PostFinance spokesman said.
Hackers appeared to be using denial service attacks against the websites, in which computers across the internet are harnessed to jam sites with an overload of requests for data, stopping their sites from functioning.
One tweet on Anon_Operations said: “Target: postfinance.ch : Grab your weapon and its settings: FIRE NOW!”.
Viral messages have also been posted on the internet, some called “Operation Avenge Assange”, urging people to campaign on behalf of WikiLeaks and take part in “the first info war ever fought”.
The call comes after John Perry Barlow, co-founder of the San Francisco-based internet freedoms group Electronic Frontier Foundation, tweeted: “The first serious infowar is now engaged. The field of battle is WikiLeaks. You are the troops”.
HACKERS have claimed attacks on the websites of Visa, Mastercard and Sarah Palin in revenge for their stances on whistleblowing website WikiLeaks.
Organisers of the group “Anonymous” said thousands of hackers had joined their effort to defend the site and its founder Julian Assange, and vowed to extend their campaign to anyone with an “anti-WikiLeaks agenda.”
WikiLeaks said it had nothing to do with the hacking, which mainly targeted financial institutions that had cut off funding for the whistleblowing website.
The site of credit card giant Visa was hit this morning after by members of the hackers group “Anonymous” and was still down two hours later.
Visa.com went down as members of Anonymous launched a coordinated cyber attack announced on their Twitter feed Anon-Operation.
“Operation Payback. TARGET: WWW.VISA.COM :: FIRE FIRE FIRE!!! WEAPONS,” the message said.

They are trying to get more folks in on the DDOS attacks so they can attempt to take down PAYPAL… This smells like shit.. Kinda like a controlled demo of freedoms in the digital era, you bring down sites like these so you have precedence to screw over the majority; in the name of “internet security”.
Anonymous to me = CIA or similar. These are the types of events that tear down the walls for these sick bastards, use this as an excuse to limit freedoms. Hopefully I am wrong. The whole Mastercard/Visa thing seemed like a recruiting tool to get regular Joes to get in on the action so they can claim “nah man, I was a part of it too”; while all the time, it was started by insiders who have much broader and long range plans.
Who knows though really, but thought I would throw that perspective out there.

We all wonder why, at first I thought it was for revenge for reporting them, but now I think they get money from it, like a contract. I think they steal a lot of money from people this way, from identity theft, and they do see everything we do in our houses…once they posted this “If you keep doing that Honey, the money will come” They seem to be making money from movies they make of us, I found a website that was directly related to my life, but then I couldn’t find it again. Part of my life was in the movie “Gamer”, and they used my name. They do that to a lot of targets, we are famous among those who get to watch us. They can see you through your tv, I’ve ssen that proven! They also told me they like “free reality tv while trading stock”, so they were watching me somehow, maybe through a webcam, or the tv. I’m used to the idea of being watched now. I think they do it for fun too, they kept mentioning “the game”. It’s an Illuminati game. It ties in with Masonic ritual abuse.

I think they hunt for targets, they have their own discussion group and they are drawing people in, hacking computers, and looking for new people to target.
