Almost 21 tons of heroin have been seized in an operation in eastern Afghanistan , the head of Russia’s Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) said on Tuesday.
“An operation was carried out yesterday in the province of Nangarhar, during which several drug production labs were destroyed and almost 21 tons of heroin seized,” FSKN head Viktor Ivanov said.
He said FSKN officers had taken part in the “unique operation.”
“Twenty-one tons is, in essence, the annual volume of drugs brought into Russia,” Ivanov said.
The Pajhwok Afghan News agency said five heroin producing laboratories were destroyed by security forces during an operation in the Sherzad district of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday. Several people were arrested, the agency said, citing officials.
Some 30,000 Russians die from heroin abuse every year, according to official statistics, accounting for around one-third of all heroin-related deaths worldwide. NGOs estimate that there are up to three million heroin addicts in the country.
The vast majority of the heroin consumed in Russia is from Afghanistan. The United Nations says some 20 percent of the almost 400 tons of heroin produced annually in the war-ravaged state travel through Central Asia before reaching the Russian market.

Like I mentioned before, this drug brings liquidity to the corrupt banking system. So far the Cypriot theft hasn’t had too much effect on the markets, gold went up a wee bit.
If there are more heroin busts the markets might react.
Strange times we live in when the contraband is what makes the system work. It really can’t have too much longer to go – unless, now here’s a thought…all drugs are legalised!

Right before the U.S. invaded over there, they actually went to the bottom on the drug trade market. As soon as they invaded, boom, they skyrocketed back up there. There is a pic of a chard somewhere, if you look at it, there you go, the total proof.
It’s down right hilarious listening to Sheep talk about how the terrorists make all their money in drugs, yet they don’t believe the CIA is the ones doing it too. Never forget the Iran/Contra scandal. It’s pretty clear the CIA is involved with the drug trafficking, and they keep the flow of drugs into the country. Since the supposed “War on terror” Heroin has become the big thing. It’s basically replaced Cocaine ever since they stepped foot in Afghanistan.
