Indonesia cancels visa requirement for Palestinians

Palestinian passport holders no longer require a visa to enter Indonesia, the Palestinian foreign ministry revealed yesterday.

In a statement reported by the Anadolu Agency, the PA foreign ministry said it had received an official letter from the Indonesian embassy in Amman stating Palestinian passport holders are no longer in need of entry visas to visit the country.

“Based on the directions of the President of the Indonesian Republic Joko Widodo, the Palestinian passport holders are not obliged to have an entry visa,” the statement said.

The statement stated that the decision took effect on 10 March.

The ministry said the decision comes as a result of strong relations between Palestine and Indonesia.
