Assange: “A lot more material” coming on US elections

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said Tuesday his whistleblowing website might release “a lot more material” relevant to the US electoral campaign.

Assange was speaking in a CNN interview following the release of nearly 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee by suspected Russian hackers.

However, Assange refused to confirm or deny a Russian origin for the mass email leak, saying Wikileaks tries to create ambiguity to protect all its sources.

“Perhaps one day the source or sources will step forward and that might be an interesting moment some people may have egg on their faces. But to exclude certain actors is to make it easier to find out who our sources are,” Assange told CNN.

The Kremlin has rejected allegations its behind the hacking, calling suggestions it ordered the release of the emails to influence US politics the “usual fun and games” of the US election campaigns.

“This is not really good for bilateral relations,” Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, added.

Speaking from the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he faces extradition over sexual assault allegations, Assange told CNN that Democratic Party officials were using the specter of Russian involvement to distract from the content of the emails, which have had tumultuous affect on the party at the start of its national convention, where it is expected to make Hillary Clinton its presidential nominee.

“It raises questions about the natural instincts of Clinton that when confronted with a serious domestic political scandal, she tries to blame the Russians, blame the Chinese, et cetera,” Assange told CNN.

“Because if she does that while in government, it could lead to problems,” he added.

President Obama on Tuesday raised the possibility that Russians hacked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in order to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

“Anything’s possible,” Obama said in an interview with NBC News.

Obama said Russian President Vladimir Putin might prefer Republican nominee Donald Trump over his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, because the business magnate has “repeatedly expressed admiration” for the Russian leader in the past.

“I am basing this on what Mr. Trump himself has said,” the president said. “And I think that — Trump’s gotten pretty favorable coverage — back in Russia.”

The president’s comments add considerable heft to mounting evidence that Russian hackers were behind the DNC hack.

Obama said that the FBI is still investigating the origin of the hack, but he acknowledged that “experts have attributed this to the Russians.”

spill it..all of it..already..

does it matter who leaked?..or who hacked?

the importance is always what was written..not how somebody got hold of it..this is a classic deflection to the old favorite enemy russia..and even obama is playing the fake game..

“It raises questions about the natural instincts of Clinton that when confronted with a serious domestic political scandal, she tries to blame the Russians, blame the Chinese, et cetera,” Assange told CNN.”

  1. keep in mind a couple of things ….

    1) assange is no dummy (except when it comes to keeping his dick in his pants)
    2) wikileaks is an extortion racket. this is the only reason he is seen on tv other than RT.

remember the bank of america “leak” that never happened?

that’s why he lets out a dribble… and threatens to let out the rest… he knows the clintons and their foundation have a lot of money to throw around and he’s just lining up for his fair share (or rather the share demanded by whoever owns assange).

  2. Hello Seeker.

I’m sure that the comment from XXX is on the money, so to speak.

Assange’s personality is also an issue. A good friend of mine had a look at his astrology. It’s evident from it that Assange is deeply narcissistic, and that anyone else or anthing else is there simply for his convenience and use.

Essentially, it (and everything else) is all about him.

    Best wishes to all.

    Andrew Farquharson.

    a comment there:
“This is so obviously a step in a false flag operation that I have few other words to describe it. Quote a bunch of Democrats preparing vote fraud and assign blame to the Russians. Accuse Trump of being an agent of the Russians.

Are the Democrats aware of voter polling showing something far more troubling than a tightening race?”

(seek, what was the movie we saw the trailer of here in which a guy of the Presidential staff all of a sudden because of a ?nuclear? attack in the US was forced to enter into the Oval office?
is this what they are preparing as the end of this show?)
