Jack Ma has a warning for those who see globalization as a problem: When trade stops, wars can follow.

“We should keep on going along the path of globalization,” Ma said Friday in Hangzhou, China. “Globalization is good… when trade stops, war comes.”

The executive chairman of Alibaba said he hopes the anti-globalization fervor that currently grips much of the world will ease after U.S. elections in November. China, in particular, has been a target of heated rhetoric.

“Every time there’s an election, people start to criticize China. They criticize this, they criticize that,” Ma told CNN’s Andrew Stevens. “[But] how can you stop global trade? How can you build a wall to stop the trade?”

For his part, the 52-year-old Ma believes that globalization hasn’t gone far enough. He said international trade must now be improved so that more people can enjoy its benefits.

Ma is hoping to pitch G20 leaders on an electronic world trade platform, or e-WTP, that would help small businesses expand their customer base globally, the way multinational corporations have been able to. It would also help eliminate tariffs, inspections and other red tape that can trip up mom and pop shops.

“We need solutions for young people to leverage the technology we have, so they can buy anywhere, sell anywhere, trade anywhere,” he said. “If you want to get involved, just join.”

The first G20 summit was held in 2008. The annual confab of the world’s 20 largest economies has a mixed record on producing meaningful policy results, but Ma said the summit is a “great opportunity” for politicians to listen to business leaders.

“Every government says they love small businesses but what have they done for them?” Ma asked. “We should pull down all the barriers.”

jack needs to be under constant surveillance..hes singing straight from the globalists rule book..

wars start when bankers and rulers decide its time..not when trade stops..thats a bullshit response..

this electronic trade platform ma speaks of is very significant..we will hear more of it..

Lessee, lessee…a CEO of a highly successful Chinese export company is basically threatening WAR if the U.S. tries to renegotiate the massively imbalanced & suicidal trade agreements between China & the U.S., in which the U.S. is hemorrhaging over 30 billion a month into the pockets of Chinese exporters, while transferring all its manufacturing tech to Chinese industry?
What an incredible “surprise”…who would have ever thunk it?
Frankly, as an American, WAR is preferable.

    • you’re just very eager to bomb non-white people. that is, afterall, the very definition of an american.

      who owns those chinese industries?

who transferred the technology to the chinese?

who negotiated the trade agreements with china?

who created the credit system that enabled china to become a major player?

are you sure you’re an american? kinda looking like a palestinian, to tell the truth.

      • “who owns those chinese industries?

who transferred the technology to the chinese?

who negotiated the trade agreements with china?

who created the credit system that enabled china to become a major player?”

That would be transnational corporate cartels, the same cartels that bought the U.S. government out from under the American people.
And I have no desire to bomb anyone, white or not, therefore it would be inadvisable for China to start any military action against us when President Trump renegotiates international trade & balances it, ending our hemorrhaging of over 30 billion dollars a month, & bringing much of those industries & jobs back to the U.S.

Go ahead…pull the tail of this “paper tiger” for protecting its own interests…Saddam did…

        • Saddam pulled the tail of the ‘paper tiger’ for protecting its own interests? that’s a very interesting interpretation of history! lol

1959 – saddam injected into iraqi society by CIA as a thug
          1963 – CIA backs saddam’s party’s ascension to power
1979 – CIA maneuvers saddam to iraqi presidency
1979-1990 – CIA arms saddam’s iraq heavily, using cocaine profits from central america
1980 – CIA orders saddam to attack peaceful neighbor iran
1990 – US ambassador april glaspie tells saddam:

“We have no opinion on your Arab – Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (of State James) Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960′s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America.”

1991 – US attacks iraq, but doesnt “go all the way” as the neocons had been advising. curiously, saddam is left in power and now becomes one of the most popular leaders in the arab world because he “stood up” to the US and sent scuds to israel.

1992/1995 – US sanctions and ‘oil-for-food’ program begins. More than a million iraqis die, half of them children, while the oil program makes saddam extremely wealthy.

1993-2000 – US bombs iraq on average once per week. curiously, they never hit saddam.

2003 – US attacks iraq again. Eventually they ‘capture’ one of saddam’s stand-ins. saddam’s wife visits the stand-in and proclaims it is not her husband. during his ‘trial’ the stand-in never mentions donald rumsfeld, the iran-iraq setup, or any of saddam’s well-established ties to the CIA.

2006 – saddam’s stand-in is executed by the US. a cell phone video of the hanging is “leaked” for all to see.

2006 – present whereabouts of saddam hussein are unknown to the general public.

“And I have no desire to bomb anyone,”

then you’re a soft, bleeding heart commie, and certainly not a true american.

“when President Trump renegotiates international trade & balances it”

the israelis and their neocon henchmen will throw so man false flags at your president trump that he’ll just revert to being yet another establishment prick.

how do i know trump is fake? he’s on tv.

Saddam attacked Kuwait & intended the takeover as a prelude to gaining power over the oil-rich territories he saw as being historically belonging to Iraq. This destabilized the region, and the original intent of the U.S. was simply to force Saddam out while wrecking the core of his (rather massive) military…this was accomplished. But it also opened the door to neocon military “adventures” in the region, as the neocons were gaining power in those decades, with the citizens of the U.S. literally pushed into their lap by the extremism of the liberal left. I agree, neocons have done horrible damage, not only to the world, but to their own citizens.

“1959 – saddam injected into iraqi society by CIA as a thug
      1963 – CIA backs saddam’s party’s ascension to power
1979 – CIA maneuvers saddam to iraqi presidency

1980 – CIA orders saddam to attack peaceful neighbor iran”

No argument from me on any of this. I have many times, and in many places, posed the question of just who the CIA actually works for. I have come to the conclusion they do NOT work for the United States or its citizens, and…if I had my druthers…they would be disbanded, and our covert operations would be transferred back to the military, with MUCH MORE congressional oversight than we currently see. The idea that congressmen can vote on “black budgets,” allocating billions of dollars to projects & enterprises they have no clue as to the nature of, is unconstitutional and inherently stupid. Nothing good ever happens in secret.

As for Saddam “pulling the paper tiger’s tail,” he should have simply accepted the no-fly zone & stopped his policy of having his missile batteries lock their radar on U.S. planes patrolling the region. All that accomplished was the destruction of those missile batteries and their crews. He was emboldened, no doubt, by the fact that the U.S. & the coalition stopped short of overrunning his entire country, as his total number of men-at-arms was around 4 million. As to his becoming one of the most “popular” leaders in the Arab world by shooting ineffective missiles into Israel, you can go ahead and bomb them to dust, for all I care…Israel has dragged us into wars with false flag attacks, has actually sunk one of our naval vessels & murdered our sailors, has spied on us continuously & sold our military tech to China, and is no REAL ally of the U.S. or its people, they are simply in inordinate control of key societal institutions in the U.S. and all across the globe. I have no love for them. And remember my question of who the CIA really works for?…consider it.

That my country, led by traitors & sell-outs has been committing dishonorable acts across the globe is something I don’t deny…but look to your own countries, as they are infected, too.
You say Trump will fail & fall into the same trap laid for any of his possibly honest predecessors…I say he will not fail. And I also say that once he is in power, The people of the U.S. will continue their support, cleaning out the rat’s nest that is Capital Hill, and returning our country to Nationalism, once again.
You claim the U.S. beat down Iraq simply because Iraq was “protecting its own interests”…well, renegotiating our suicidal trade policies with the rest of the world & taking back control of our current immigration debacle is simply the U.S. “protecting its own interests,” yet you seem to agree with the CEO above that this might justifiably lead to war. Seems pretty hypocritical to me.
America WILL protect its own interests again, and if you want to commit war on us for doing so, FINE…we’ve heard that tune many times before, and if you want to dance, let’s dance.
