Pope Francis has declared that priests have the permanent right from now on to forgive abortions.

His remarks come at the end of the Catholic Church’s jubilee year during which he had temporarily granted priests this power.

In an Apostolic letter the pontiff also restated that abortion was a “grave sin” which ended “innocent life”.

Catholics who have or perform an abortion can be immediately excommunicated from the Church.

A Vatican spokesman confirmed that “there is no type of laxness here” regarding the Church’s position on the morality of abortion, but that the power given to priests meant God’s mercy could cover all sin.

“There is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled [with God],” Pope Francis wrote in his letter.

“Mercy cannot become a mere parenthesis in the life of the church; it constitutes her very existence.

“May every priest, therefore, be a guide, support and comfort to penitents on this journey of special reconciliation.”

  2. Each of us gets to choose our behavior not the consequences a.k.a. karma. Humans reap what we sow.

Pope Boniface had a brainstorm, got greedy, and overstepped his role as Trustee, asserting responsibilities no man has and rights to go with them, in the formation of the Unam Sanctum Trust, 1302.

This trust seizes upon the Earth and all three jurisdictions of it defined by the trust; air, land, and sea, as property owned and managed by the Holy See. You don’t have to honor this trust. It’s not Divine. It’s just another mental construct composed by men and for men in an attempt to control and organize things. http://annavonreitz.com/ancientlanguage.pdf

Religious dogma pits man against man until a critical mass of people face reality as it is instead of how we’d like it to be, do their own due diligence, and stop cycling in debt slavery.

  3. The pope has ZERO power to forgive sins. ZILCH.

    • 5 And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 6 But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”

The Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes were not always wrong.
Exactly, the pope has ZERO power to forgive sins.

      LORD bless

    • First off, I would like to begin by saying to my brothers of the 7th Day Adventist church that what I think our argument is, is an inter-Christian argument. That means this is not an argument over heresy. It is an argument in which brothers are on both sides maintain a sincere eagerness to know our LORD Jesus Christ. Inter-Christian debates are not acknowledged by their importance enough.

Sunday observance has been changed in the New Testament. I used to be a 7th Day Adventist. I understand their perspective and had a tough time finding where in the NT is the change. It is there. Mainly in two explicit passages, the historical appearance of Christ after His resurrection, and the Spirit at Pentecost are all explicitly accounted to have taken place on the 1st day of the week (all but one I believe is explicit as to the day He appeared). Historical events in our hermeneutic in scripture is not always seen as important and this lack of attention, in my opinion, does not notice this account of our LORD in which He is the Lord of the Sabbath. He appeared on those 1st days of the week while His disciples waited for His appearance in a specific location. Then He spoke and they worshipped.

A general Baptist argument from its earliest inception in Switzerland (with the Anabaptists which the Baptists assumed some of their views – not all) against other Protestants follows this same line of thinking. Baptists maintain that just because Rome baptized babies, then other Protestants were wrong to do also. This fails to engage with the theology in scripture as well in which much has been written to demonstrate the continuation of babies given the covenant promise in Christ as had happened in the OT. This also is an inter-Christian debate and should not be seen as a debate between some accusing of others to be Christian or not. That is definitely not that kind of debate at all. It is definitely what those involved in that debate are accusing the other side of. This debate does not mischaracterize God and the gospel message of Christ which if it did would by authorized church processes spur further examination by those given to that charge.

    • Good video joelh. This video at around 1:37 takes up where it left off for a bit.

    • Ok. I got to the part in that video about the Trinity. Those that made that video are false teachers and heretics. God is a Triune-God. There are 3 Persons who are the One God. Rationalists and mystics can never understand this. Scripture is revelation. It is not made by the mind of a rational, creaturely man. God Himself has to reveal who He is by way of revelation because Fallen man corrupted by sin does not truly know his God. By the preached Word and work of the Spirit man is given faith to believe in the promise of Christ given by God’s Word now written and generally understood as the Bible.

Of course that is my testimony and personal belief.

  5. Pretty presumptuous of him, isn’t it?
I thought forgiveness was up to God, not man.

    • It is presumptuous to assume God’s forgiveness .. as it is hinges on your willingness to forgive ..

Forgive us .. as we forgive those who trespass against us ..

The measure you use is the same measure that will be used for you ..

We all have the responsibility to forgive ..

The pope can go to hell
