New United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday, and the two had “a very positive discussion on U.S./U.N. relations,” said a U.N. spokesman, a week after Trump slammed the world body on Twitter.

Guterres, a former Portuguese prime minister and U.N. refugee chief who began his five-year term on Sunday, spoke by phone with Trump, who will take office on Jan. 20, said U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq.

“This was an introductory phone call during which they had a very positive discussion on U.S./U.N. relations. The secretary-general said that he looked forward to engaging with the president after his inauguration,” Haq told reporters.

Trump took to Twitter to disparage the 193-member world body after the United States abstained in a Dec. 23 U.N. Security Council vote, allowing the adoption of a resolution demanding an end to settlement building by U.S. ally Israel.

Trump, who had called on the outgoing Obama administration to veto the resolution, warned that “things will be different” at the United Nations after he takes office, without offering any details.

He followed up with another tweet on Dec. 26: “The United Nations has such great potential but right now it is just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time. So sad!”

Guterres responded in an interview with Snapchat on Tuesday: “President(-elect) Trump also said the U.N. has an enormous potential. That’s exactly what I feel. My job is to make sure that potential becomes a reality.”

In an address to U.N. staff in New York on Tuesday, Guterres acknowledged that in some parts of the world there was a resistance and skepticism about the role of the United Nations.

Trump spokesman Sean Spicer said on Wednesday that the president-elect would work with Rex Tillerson, his secretary of state nominee, and Nikki Haley, his choice for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to “demand some reform and change.” Both Tillerson and Haley must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before taking office.

The United States is the largest contributor to the United Nations, paying 22 percent of the $5.4 billion core U.N. budget and 28 percent of the $7.9 billion U.N. peacekeeping budget. Following passage of the U.N. resolution on Israeli settlements, a top U.S. senator threatened to work to cut U.S. funding.

“This gives Guterres a reason for going big on reform quickly,” said a senior U.N. diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity. “He needs to make sure he is reforming the U.N. fast enough and radically enough in order to engage the incoming U.S. administration.”

Though Trump will be the 45th president, it’s the 58th election in US.

In May 9, 1958, an episode of the Western TV show ‘Trackdown’, titled “The End of the World”, showed a snake oil salesman named Trump was promoting building a wall to keep the people safe from the end times.

    1958 + 58 = 2016, the year Trump was elected.

Donald Trump will be inaugurated on 1/20/2017 (1+20+20+17=58)

Trump announced his run for President at the 58-story Trump Tower, on the date June 16, 2015.

It is unpresidented coincidence that something totally unrelated from the former era of 1958 TV show talked about a con man savior named Trump, and also promoted building a wall to save them!!! You might speculate it is predictive programming or masonic timeline or just sign from someone who try to warn people, whatever it is, the coincidence is just too uncanny.

    • Rising 68 stories above 5th Avenue between East 56th and East 57th streets, Trump Tower is one of New York’s most visited attractions since its completion in 1983.

Donald Trump’s Math Takes His Towers to Greater Heights

Of the many rivals Donald J. Trump has accumulated over four decades in business and, now, presidential politics, one of the earliest was a New York City skyscraper with the boldness to stand taller than his own.
In 1979, as Mr. Trump inspected a model of the black-and-gold Fifth Avenue high-rise that would come to serve as his home, office, fortress and personal monument, he could find only one flaw to spoil the moment: the General Motors building, which, in real life, was 41 feet higher and a few blocks away from the future Trump Tower.
“My building looks a little small,” he said, according to Norman Brosterman, the model maker’s assistant at the time. Assured the scale was accurate, Mr. Trump had an inspiration on his next visit to the architectural workshop.
“Can you make my building taller?” Mr. Trump asked. No, he was told. “Well, can you make the G.M. building shorter?”

Mr. Trump marked the G.M. building at his preferred height with a pencil. Mr. Brosterman sawed off the top third, leaving Trump Tower — in the one-thirty-second-scale model, at least — the tallest in the neighborhood.
“Trump said, ‘Great,’ and left,” Mr. Brosterman recalled recently.
In real life, Trump Tower could not be elongated. But Trump Arithmetic found a way.
Though the tower was built with 58 floors, Mr. Trump later explained to The New York Times that because there was a soaring pink marble atrium and 19 commercial floors at the bottom, he could see no good reason not to list the first residential floor as the 30th floor. The pinnacle became the 68th — the height that appears in marketing materials, online search results and news articles to this day.
