Mexican election..Obrador wins

Polls are closing across Mexico in elections marred by some of the worst political violence for decades.

More than 130 candidates and political workers have been killed since campaigning began in September.

The presidential frontrunner is Andrés Manuel López Obrador, 64, the left-wing former mayor of Mexico City who has pledged to crack down on corruption.

The coalition led by his party, Morena, could oust the two parties that have governed Mexico for nearly a century.

This has been the most violent election campaign in Mexico in living memory. Now that voting day has arrived, however, many Mexicans see it as an opportunity to remove the government that has led the country to this point.

Millions of ordinary Mexicans are angry at President Enrique Peña Nieto and his administration, particularly over the sluggish economy and widespread corruption, crime and impunity.

The man widely expected to replace him, Andrés Manuel López Obrador who is often referred to just by his initials Amlo, was the runner-up in the last two presidential elections.

If Mr López Obrador wins this time, he will end the dominance in Mexican politics of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the National Action Party (PAN).

He has referred to them as being part of the same “mafia of power”

Conservative opposition candidate Ricardo Anaya said he had called Mr Lopez Obrador to congratulate him after also conceding defeat.

An exit poll gave a big edge to Mr Lopez Obrador in his third bid for the presidency.

The survey by Consulta Mitofsky said he had a 16 to 26 per cent lead over his nearest rival, Mr Anaya.

Mr Lopez Obrador is a twice-spurned populist whose supporters hope will deliver on promises to clean up corruption, rein in spiralling violence and lift millions out of poverty.

His detractors argued he would set the country back decades with his economic policies.

Amid widespread frustrations with the status quo, all of the candidates tried to paint themselves as the agent of real change.

Mr Lopez Obrador had enjoyed a wide lead in opinion polls since the beginning of the campaign.

third time lucky for sure he will clash with the donald..

  1. I bet he becomes the posterboy for the United States favorite enemy.

Mexican presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) declared mass immigration to the United States a “human right” for all North Americans during a speech Tuesday.

“And soon, very soon — after the victory of our movement — we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world,” Obrador said, adding that immigrants “must leave their towns and find a life in the United States.”

    • spot on int..

    • …the west propaganda as always…great article on Obrador & Mexican reality here:

“Here’s a rule of thumb: If the American media speaks negatively of any Mexican candidate, that will be the candidate that is the best for Mexico. The scamming MSM/NWO crowd has the same goals everywhere, the U.S. is not unique with them.”

“According to a few “alt media” sources, Lopez Obrador is encouraging a Mexican invasion of America. I never heard of that, and he’s on TV every day now.

This is what his actual message is: To make Mexico into a country people are proud to live in. To encourage small business growth, so average Mexicans can have their own “mexican dream”. To keep Mexico Mexican, and not a liberalized pro-gay pro abortion anti family hell hole. To bust the monopolies that are putting very high prices on many goods in Mexico. To keep corporations in check, so they won’t over-run local Mexican business the way Wal Mart did in the U.S.”

One last note: Some alt media sources are saying Obrador is the Soros candidate. They are sorely mistaken. Anaya is a direct afiliate of “Movmiento Naranja”, a Soros backed communist color movement that already failed in Italy, and Obrador has openly stated that he was not going to play ball with that. “Kanaya” made the false claim that all political parties support Movmiento Naranja, when only the pro-choice totally liberal communist leftist parties do, if Encuentro Social and Lopez obrador forced Kanaya to rescind that and own Movmiento Naranja all to himself (which ended all talk from Anaya about unilateral support) there’s no way Obrador is a Soros troll.

And they say Obrador is the leftist, when Obrador is saying “Keep Mexico Mexican, sometimes change is not good”

      • Thanks maria you many be right, but I don’t trust Roger Stone and I think Obrador is just another Jesuit in disguise, much like Castro, but that’s just my thoughts on him until I see what comes of this lol… thought this was interesting too
The “Good Girl” video purported to be a school project and claimed to highlight the “contemporary problems of Mexico,” though it focused heavily on the frivolities of Mexico’s upper crust, including rich kids — often the products of elitist Catholic schools — flaunting their wealth and privilege.

But it also conveyed a sense that some in the upper crust might be ready to recognize the unsustainability of a country where roughly half the population lives in poverty, and opportunities for social advancement are scant.

Mostly, though, it playfully promoted Lopez Obrador and disdained the parties that have governed Mexico for the past dozen years.

Some observers suggested it set out to mock conservative Catholic society. And the video certainly scandalized conservative Catholics, who called it profane.

Some even demanded the electoral authorities punish Lopez Obrador, a left-wing populist, whose proximity to power unsettles many on the Catholic right. As mayor of Mexico City, Lopez Obrador forged a strong friendship with Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, then-archbishop of Mexico City, according to the cardinal’s former spokesman, Fr. Hugo Valdemar Romero.

Lopez Obrador also refrained from advancing contentious social issues such as decriminalization of abortion and same-sex marriages, both of which were championed by his successor.

    • On Human Rights and what it means to pagan philosophy.

The following is the timeline of non-Christian philosophies that undergird and give meaning to what non-Christians believe “human rights” mean:

Kant –> Hegel –> Jeffersonian (Locke) –> Transcendentialists –> Social Darwinists

Each of these philosophies impact the subsequent to further clarify what is meant by human rights, which by the 19th century, especially by Transcendentialists, was explicitly defined as: people are free to be and do whatever they want (Crowley’s ‘do-what-thou-wilt’). Kant removed God, Hegel put the power in the State, Jeffersonian made the State a democratic philosophy, Transcendentialists used the State for progressive reform movements, and Social Darwinists used the State for progressive reform movements involving ethnic and race.

      • I should add in the last sentence: ethic and race AND gender (the hundreds of genders (transgender, non-binary, etc.) some people try to push in the modern agenda)

      • Thanks adirondack, very good info. Meanwhile, the people are still enslaved to an evil system, regardless of who defines it. I believe I once read that hu man means beasts, and words are important, we are just ignorant of how important they are and listen to what we are ‘taught’. No doubt in my mind, we live in a beast system of fraud all the way around.

        • The beast system operates in accord with a definition. People get educated on what the beast system feeds them. So they put into practice a false knowledge and false notion of righteousness due to their false understanding of what reality is. That is the beast system, and its’ way is informed by the likes of people who follow other men, like Kant’s philosophy and Darwin. The only other way to be inform outside of the beast system is by God’s Word as written. Everything else is the beast system, and even believers still operate in accord with the beast system, but less and less each day by the Holy Spirit working God’s Word into our hearts and lives. In this day and age, all else is just Kant.
